Installing your Web Server Certificate
Your certificate will be sent to you by email. The email message includes the web server certificate that you purchased in the body of the email message.
Install your Web Server Certificate
Copy the certificate from the body of the email and paste it into a text editor (such as notepad) to store the file in your server directory - name the file as domainname-certificate.pem
Also copy and paste the following certificate block into a file called esca.pem and save it in your server directory. This is our Trusted Root Certificate, called "Equifax Secure Certificate Authority".

Update the WebLogic Properties File
- Open the "weblogic.properties" file in your favorite text editor.
This file is located in the server's root directory.
- Edit the following directives contained within the "weblogic.properies"
file, under Server certificates for SSL:
weblogic.system.SSLListenPort=443
weblogic.security.ssl.enable=true
weblogic.security.certificate.server=domainname-certificate.pem
weblogic.security.key.server=domainname-key.der
weblogic.security.certificate.authority=esca.pem
- Start, or restart, your WebLogic Server.
Test your certificate by using a browser to connect to your server. Use the https protocol directive (e.g. https://yourserver.com/) to indicate you wish to use secure HTTP.
Note: The padlock icon
on your browser will be displayed in the locked position if your certificates are installed correctly and the server is properly configured for SSL.
